Biography

Amanda Hendry is a passionate, community-minded leader with hands-on experience in aviation, banking, farming, retail, hospitality and tourism. As a dedicated problem solver who values hard work, Amanda is ready to fight for the people of King.

At 17 years of age Amanda began her career in the Royal Australian Navy, where she graduated as an Aviation Maintenance Engineer and served at Australian Defence Forces bases across the country, including RAAF Base Edinburgh. Following her career in the Navy, she returned to the southeast of South Australia, working on farms before launching a successful 15-year career in banking and finance.

Helping families, small businesses, and community groups build financial security has been a privilege for Amanda. However, in the last three years, she has seen too many good people heavily burdened by Labor’s cost-of-living crisis: skyrocketing power bills, soaring grocery prices, unaffordable insurance, and endless red tape. Amanda will fight to lower costs for families and small businesses, reduce government red tape, and restore hope and opportunity in our community.

Actively involved in the community, Amanda lends a hand to those facing tough times. She knows that the strength of a community is built on community service - Amanda will bring that strength and spirit of service to the South Australian Parliament.

The community of King needs positive change, and Amanda is ready to make that happen.
