Biography

Daryl McCann has dedicated more than four decades to education, teaching in both government and independent schools and shaping the lives of young Australians across the state.

Over 47 years in the classroom, he has built a reputation as a thoughtful and committed educator who believes deeply in the power of knowledge, character and discipline. He is passionate about equipping young people with the cultural literacy and critical thinking skills they need to thrive.

A father of two sons, Daryl values family, community and shared traditions. He believes strong families are the foundation of a healthy society.

Daryl is committed to principled public debate, freedom of expression and the strength of Australia’s civic institutions. For more than a decade, he has supported fundraising efforts for a secondary school in South Sudan, reflecting his longstanding interest in educational opportunity and international development.

He is also a regular contributor to national publications, offering thoughtful commentary on culture, education and public policy.
