What we are proposing...
We will abolish Labor’s GP payroll tax grab - backed by health stakeholders in SA.
With our emergency departments overflowing and ramping at record levels, we need to do everything we can to ease pressure on our hospitals.
After promising "no new taxes", Labor allowed the introduction of a GP payroll 'tax grab' that has placed additional financial burden on many local GP clinics.
In many cases, this additional burden is passed onto patients - leading to higher costs to visit your GP.
It’s already hard enough to get in to see your local doctor, and logic tells you that the harder it is to see your GP, the more likely patients will end up in our emergency departments.
Our plan will make it cheaper and easier to visit your GP, while also taking pressure off our emergency departments.
This is part of our plan to make South Australia more affordable and build a better health system.
