Putting community safety first.
Putting community safety first.
Every South Australian deserves to feel safe at home, at work, and in their community. But right now, too many people don’t.
Labor’s soft bail laws means we are seeing more crime without consequence. Breaches of bail are skyrocketing – including a 50% increase in the Youth Court since 2021.
We will introduce tough new “break bail, face jail” legislation in our first 100 days to ensure serious offenders who break their bail are sent to jail. This is a one strike rule to ensure actions have consequences and to make our community safer.
We will ensure South Australia’s bail laws are the toughest in the nation, putting victims and community safety ahead of repeat offenders.
It means safer communities, where families can feel secure again where they live, work, and shop.
It’s time to stop the cycle of crime and start building safer communities for every South Australian.
This is part of our plan for safer suburbs and stronger communities.
