Freezing the hiring of new media, marketing and communications staff.
A Hurn Liberal Government will immediately introduce a freeze on the hiring of new media, marketing and communications staff across the South Australian Public Sector, if elected.
There are approximately 419 of these staff across the public sector, costing taxpayers around $50 million per year on employee costs.
In addition to this, the government is budgeted to spend upwards of $200 million on government advertising within their term – which is a 40% increase on the previous Liberal government.
Labor are consistently blurring the lines between public information and propaganda.
A Hurn Liberal Government will use the money saved from this policy to fund our cost-of-living initiatives, including 50 cent fares on public transport, stamp duty concessions, and solar for renters and businesses.
This is part of our plan for a more affordable South Australia.
