Mount Gambier Matters

Mount Gambier Matters

What we are proposing...

A Hurn Liberal will prioritise investment into health, transport, emergency services and community services across Mount Gambier.

Mount Gambier is South Australia’s second largest city, yet the remoteness and population size of the town can sometimes result in an under provision of services.

Labor has not had made any meaningful investment in Mount Gambier and this is having an impact on the services that many of the residents rely on.

To unlock further opportunity for future generations, region specific projects are required to nurture the city’s local economy as well as localised policies to address issues impacting residents.

An elected Hurn Liberal Government will have :

  • State-wide Regional Main Street
  • Beautification Fund.
  • Crater Lakes Bike Park & Trail Precinct.
  • Fund the Mount Gambier MFS to support a 24-hour service.
  • Nature Tourism Masterplan for Greater Mount Gambier.
  • Funding to support the redevelopment of Vansittart Park.
  • Establishment of Port Macdonnell Sea Rescue operations.
  • Long term funding for In Home Hospice Care.
  • $1 billion Statewide investment in road maintenance.

This is part of our plan for safer suburbs and stronger communities.
