Home Battery Scheme

Home Battery Scheme

Subsidising batteries and solar panels for homes.

What we are proposing...

We will re-introduce the successful Home Battery Scheme cruelly cut by Labor, partnering with Federal programs to provide households with up to 50% off the upfront cost of a battery.

Under Labor, the average South Australian household is paying $776 more on their annual power bill or 43% more – a substantial rise for families during a cost-of-living crisis.

We know that one of the ways in which electricity bills can be reduced is through the installation of solar panels and batteries, harnessing renewable energy to drive down costs and stabilise the energy grid, while benefiting the wider environment.

Our Home Battery Scheme will provide a subsidy to the cost of a battery at the amount of $500 per kWhr capacity, capped at a maximum of $5,000 per system.

The Liberal plan will take more South Australians off the grid and give them control over their own energy future.

This is part of our plan for a more affordable South Australia.
