The Barossa and beyond will benefit from a new $350 million hospital to be built in the region if a Hurn Liberal Government is elected in March. With tens of thousands of people moving into the north, including around 25,000 new residents expected in Concordia alone, demand for health services is increasing. The Liberals are committed to getting this project off the ground and to progressing the build of a new hospital in the Barossa, which has been put on the shelf by the current government. An extensive final business plan has already gone through independent body Infrastructure SA and is sitting with the Labor Government for a capital investment decision, but no action has been taken and the land hasn’t been purchased. It was the former Liberal Government who for the first time put money in the State Budget to buy the land and finalise the planning, and we remain committed to progressing the build of a new hospital in the Barossa, as close to Nuriootpa as possible. The Barossa Hospital project is another example of the Liberals truly understanding the needs of the regions. This is part of our plan for a better health system.
