A Hurn Liberal Government will take immediate action to address the long-standing issues around sand management at West Beach, committing to build a pipeline in direct contrast to Labor.
For decades, locals in and around West Beach have called for a permanent solution to sand management across our coastline.
Sand erosion has been a decades long problem for the coastal community and the Liberal plan will finally provide an effective solution.
The former Liberal Government committed to and begun building a pipeline, but this contract was subsequently ripped up by the incoming Labor Government.
What’s more embarrassing for Labor is that it has been sitting on the independent feasibility report since December 2023, and now weeks out from an election announcing their plan to dredge - a costly, half-baked proposal that very few people want.
Our Liberal plan will minimise potential damage to our oceans, and ensure a sustainable and cheaper sand replenishment, whereas Labor’s plan is more expensive, and environmentally risky.
We want to finally give the community a permanent solution.
